Notable performances
Jacob won a bronze medal in the Men’s Eight at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
He was forced to take some time away from the team in 2022 to recover from a life threatening pulmonary embolism (blood clot on the lung) which was caused by Covid complications. Against the odds, he returned to full fitness and rejoined the Men’s Eight to win European and World Championship gold in 2023. He wants to make the Paris team to experience a non-covid Games and hopes that his family will see him make the podium once again.
Outside of rowing, Jacob loves the outdoors, he is a qualified tree surgeon and aims to set up a business in this area once his rowing career ends. Jacob is great at DIY and is well established as the GB Rowing Team’s ‘handyman’.
With thanks to British Rowing for the biography.
