Esme Booth

Where learnt to row

Esme took up rowing when her name was pulled out of a hat for a local primary school competition to try out rowing.

Inspired, she joined Stratford upon Avon Boat Club and fell in love with being out on the water with her friends. She decided to continue her rowing career at Oxford Brookes and it was there that she trialled for the GB Rowing Team in the hope that she could make her dreams of racing at an Olympic Games a reality.

She first represented GB at the World Rowing U23 Championships in 2019. In 2023, Esme and team mate Emily Ford made history, becoming the first British women to qualify two boats for an Olympic Games at the same regatta when they raced in the women’s pair and women’s eight at the World Championships in Belgrade.
