Steve O’Connor is the new General Manager of Leander Club.
Steve joins us from the River and Rowing Museum, where he has been instrumental in transforming what the museum has to offer the town. Prior to that, Steve ran Fulham Reach Boat Club in London where he developed a thriving and busy community club almost from nothing.
Steve said: “It is a tremendous honour to join Leander Club – an institution with a legacy unlike any other in the world of rowing. As we look ahead to the future, my ambition is to ensure that Leander not only remains the most successful club on the water, but also becomes a beacon of innovation, engagement and excellence for generations to come.
“I am deeply inspired by the passion of our members, the dedication of our athletes, team and committee and the strength of our community here in Henley and beyond. Together, we have a unique opportunity to grow the Club, strengthen its foundations, and write the next extraordinary chapter in Leander’s remarkable story.”
It’s safe to say Steve lives and breathes rowing and we’re excited to have him at the helm.
