We are honoured to announce that HRH The Princess Royal has graciously accepted the Patronage of Leander Club for an initial period of three years. This follows the esteemed patronage of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who served as the Club’s Patron from 14 December 1952 until her death in September 2022.
“We are delighted to welcome HRH The Princess Royal as our Patron,” said Dick Lester, President of Leander Club. “Her Royal Highness’s support is a testament to the Club’s rich history and continued excellence. This is a fitting way to round off this highly successful Olympic year at the Club. We are incredibly grateful for the patronage of Her Royal Highness.”
A renowned sports enthusiast, Princess Anne is the Royal Family’s first Olympic athlete and competed in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Canada, riding the Queen’s horse, Goodwill. Her Royal Highness also played a pivotal role in bringing the 2012 Olympic Games to London.
