Head of the Charles

Leander Women win two events at The Head of the Charles 2024

For the second time in three years, the Leander women took overall win in the Women’s Championship 8+ event. Seven Olympic medallists returned to Leander to race in their club colours. The crew was challenged by USA favourites; Yale and the University of Washington, who put up great fights to finish second, third and fourth.

Olympic Bronze medallist Becky Wilde and her Paris 2024 doubles partner, Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne (Upper Thames), took an impressive win in the Women’s Championship doubles.

Olympic Champions Lola Anderson and Hannah Scott finished fourth place in the Women’s Championship doubles.

In the Men’s Championship 8+, the Leander crew finished 14th.

Thank you to the organisers and volunteers for an incredible racing experience and our Leander members who have supported the opportunity for our athletes to compete.
