GB APRIL TRIALS

Whilst the Olympic team were in Varese, Italy, racing at the first World Cup, Leander’s development squad was out in force competing at GB trials.

In the W2- Juliette Perry and Amelia Standing raced well to take top spot ahead of Philippa Emery and Jessica Martin racing in a Leander/UL Composite in second place (1st U23). Issy Haws and Phoebe Snowden finished 6th, winning the B final with Abbie Topp and Grace Denning-Smitherman in 12th.

In the M2-, Dan Graham and Douwe de Graaf came out on top ahead of Leander teammates, Sam Bannister and Matt Rowe in 2nd. Tom Ballinger and James Vogel narrowly missed third spot coming home in 4th place, with Jack Prior and Miles Beeson in 5th. Our U23s Isaac Hillicks-Tulip and Marlow Depeza-Purvis came 11th (4th U23). Osian James rowing with Cambridge Uni oarsman Luke Beever finished in 12th spot (5th U23) . In the M1x Stephen Hughes finished an impressive 3rd (2nd U23) Rory Harris 4th Jamie Gare 5th and Nat Gauden 11th (8th U23) . In the W1x, Kathryn Mole came 3rd, Meg Knight 7th (2nd U23), Cam Nyland 9th and Frances Hunt-Davis in 10th.
