Wallingford Head took place on Sunday 27th November on the beautiful Wallingford stretch of the River Thames.
Leander had two men’s crews racing in the morning division with the women’s squad and a men’s gap year crew in the afternoon.
Both the Leander crews raced well in difficult stream conditions against good quality Oxford Brookes crews on their home stretch of water. Our crews finished 2nd and 4th overall.
Unfortunately while the crews were getting ready to boat for the second division, the stream levels had increased and the decision had to be made to cancel the event. Whilst this is frustrating we are grateful to Wallingford Head for doing everything possible to allow the event to go on whilst keeping us updated regularly. Huge thanks to all the volunteers for all their hard work as always.
We would also like to thank Oxford University for hosting Leander for this event it was much appreciated.
