Great Britain finished top of the 2022 World Rowing Championships medal table with 12 medals in total.
This is a fantastic achievement and Leander Club would like to congratulate all the GB athletes, coaches and support staff involved.
18 Leander athletes raced at the Championships and 12 came home with medals (7 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze) in the following events:
Mens 8+ Gold: Tom Ford and Sholto Carnegie
Mens 4- Gold: Will Stewart
Women’s 4- Gold: Heidi Long, Sam Redgrave and Rowan Mckellar
PR3 Mixed 4+ Gold: Morgan Baynham- Williams
Mens 4x Silver: Harry Leask and Tom Barras
Womens 4x Bronze: Georgie Brayshaw, Lola Anderson and Jess Leyden
W2- 5th: Emily Ford and Esme Booth
W1x 5th: Hannah Scott
We would also like to congratulate Leander members Charles Elwes who took home gold in the M8+ representing Oxford Uni, and Olly Wynne-Giffith and Tom George Bronze in the M2- representing Cambridge.
