Athletes and Members are invited to a free networking event at Leander on Tuesday 7 June.
The relaxed event is part of Leander’s careers programme which helps athletes transition out of sport and in to the world of work.
Alice Baatz, former squad athlete is hosting the casual networking event and has invited rowers from the club and those training at Caversham, plus Members working in a variety of roles to give everyone a chance to meet new people.
The event is free and runs from 6pm-8pm in the dining room. Alice will be giving a short introduction at 6.30pm.
Alice, who left the sport in February, now works in personal insurance for a financial services company. She said: “I’ll be talking about how good the network at Leander is and how it can really help to have a few connections ready when you decide to leave rowing. I know what leaving the sport feels like and it can certainly seem like a minefield, but having a few ideas in mind of what’s out there can make this process go much smoother.”
